At Currys we technically confirm that branded products placed on the market through Currys are safe. We have an exciting opportunity for an Evaluation Engineer to support checking documentation and testing products from a wide range of product types. You'll do this by developing and maintaining the risk assessment database, determining the risk level of each product type and each supplier and undertake product analysis and supplier risk evaluations.

Role overview:

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:

-Supporting the development and maintenance of a risk assessment database to identify the risk level for each product subcategory and supplier rating to determine the risk to the business and the end user
-Supporting the development of a structured evaluation process for each product type and trust level based on risk and performance history
-Having a good understanding of the safety regulations for each product category. Quickly researching requirements for new categories and add requirements to the evaluation process
-Working with buying teams and manufacturers to ensure Branded evaluation and documentation checks are embedded into the purchasing critical path while supporting the buying process and introducing confidence in supply chain
-Monitoring internal and external safety investigations and product recalls to ensure swift action is taken to prevent/remove unsafe products from the business.

You will need:

-Some experience of product development, safety requirements and quality management procedures
-Good understanding of current and developing technologies
-An awareness of the buying critical path to carry out the necessary checks without impacting the time to market
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-Experience within a production/manufacturing environment would be advantageous
-Familiarity with product design methodologies such as a life cycle modelling and cost management (desirable)
