Full Job Description

Our Family Early Help Service is seeking a Team Manager to join us on a part time (18 hours per week), 10-month fixed term contract and help play a key role in achieving positive outcomes for children and families within the borough. In this role, you will:

  • Lead with Excellence: Provide exemplary leadership, management and professional guidance to a team of early help practitioners, both individually and within their team.
  • Deliver Outstanding Services: Ensure our Family Early Help Service provides 'outstanding' support, with high-quality, integrated and systemically informed practices that address the needs of families where children are at risk of poor outcomes. You will drive early intervention efforts to improve impact, engage families more effectively, and prevent escalation.
  • Oversee Complex Casework: Support the ongoing progress of families transitioning from statutory social work, overseeing complex casework to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Promote Best Practices: Foster excellent early help practices, including assessing needs, planning purposefully, and working collaboratively with families, support networks, and other professionals to prevent the need for higher levels of statutory intervention. You'll safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
  • Responsive, Relationship-Based Service: Ensure that our early help service is both relationship-based and responsive to the needs of children and families, delivered in a timely manner and within service or statutory guidelines.
  • Develop Practitioners: Lead the development of skilled and confident early help practitioners, promoting a high standard of practice within the team.
  • For detailed qualifications and requirements, please review the job description and person specification located at the bottom of the advert.

As part of our commitment to inclusion, we offer guaranteed interviews for specific groups of people. To qualify, you'll need to meet the minimum requirements for the role, and identify with one of the criteria below:
  • Members of the Armed Forces and veterans.
  • Are currently in care or have previously been in care.
  • If you consider yourself to be disabled or if you have a long-term health condition.
