Full Job Description

This role leads marketing strategy for Springer Nature's high growth solution portfolios Nature Research Intelligence and Nature Masterclasses, as well as new future launches. The role holder will develop a clear understanding of the institutional and research management markets for these products, how and why purchasing decisions are made, what motivates key decision makers, and how marketing can successfully influence these decisions. They will develop and maintain a close working relationship with Sales and Product Management, whilst coordinating with Marketing Data/Technology and Marketing delivery teams to deliver targeted campaigns that drive product awareness, user acquisition, lead generation and sales. As with all the roles in B2B strategic marketing team there is a substantial element of project-based work, particularly as new products and propositions are developed and launched, as well as stakeholder management with senior sales and product management teams globally. This role can be in our London, Heidelberg/Berlin offices on a hybrid working model. Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for Nature Research Intelligence and Nature Masterclasses products, as well as new products in the future
  • Lead the development of product positioning and messaging to target and influence research management audience prospects and customers
  • Conduct market analysis, customer segmentation, and prioritise marketing programmes based on customer needs, market opportunities and tactical marketing performance
  • Work closely with Sales, Product Management and Marketing Intelligence to understand current and planned developments
  • Establish effective delivery mechanisms with Planning and Operations teams to ensure campaigns are executed in line with strategy, driving innovation in tactical delivery
  • Lead communication and implementation of marketing strategies across different teams in Marketing and beyond
  • Develop commercially focused performance measures for marketing success, ensuring these are understood and supported by key stakeholders
  • Communicate stretching targets for KPIs and ensure marketing activity delivers on these targets
  • Control marketing budgets and ensure spend is tracked and on budget.

    Essential
  • Developing and executing successful marketing strategies, including market analysis, segmentation, and buyer behavior insights
  • Experience of understanding complex products and translating these into meaningful marketing propositions
  • Proven experience in B2B marketing, preferably within SaaS and large global matrix organisations
  • Experience in using analytics tools (including Google Analytics) to optimise digital marketing
  • Experience with HubSpot marketing automation software is highly beneficial
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to synthesise complex data to produce clear recommendations
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience influencing stakeholders at Director and VP levels
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and projects without direct authority
  • Confidence in using a range of analytics programs to extract and manipulate data (e.g., Excel, GA4 etc.)
  • University degree, preferable in marketing / business / or similar
