Horizon Scanning and Demand Signalling Manager

The role leads on the day to day operational aspects of the horizon scanning and demand signalling team. It may involve operational delivery of individual work strands within the team's portfolio and commissioning and contract managing a range of organisations that the team works with - including monitoring deliverables and quality assurance, conducting reviews and establishing good lines of reporting. The role also supports the development and implementation of good governance processes, and in ensuring cohesive and efficient delivery of the wider IRLSS programme through employing strong programme management approaches. The post holder will work closely with Horizon Scanning and Demand Signalling team members to ensure that the work is delivered within the agreed timescales and to the agreed quality and standard required. Stakeholder engagement and partnership working is a key function for this role. The role is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong service delivery.Main duties of the job Responsibility for the overarching programme management of both the Horizon Scanning and Demand Signalling programmes of work, ensuring smooth delivery of all projects therein and cohesion with the wider AAC programmes. They will work closely and collaboratively with the AAC Delivery Unit, recognising interdependencies and mitigating risks, to ensure that the work is delivered within the agreed timescales and in-line with strategic objectives. Key aspects of this role will be to support the team to: Ensure programme and contract delivery Proactively manage the key risks Monitor the overall progress of the function Manage the budgetary implications of programme activity Ensure alignment with wider AAC programmes of work and overall strategic objectives to maximise the impact of the function, NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher. Experience of the life sciences sector, and the pathway of product development form early stage research to market launch. Practical experience within an innovation/research environment, including delivering complex research programmes of work. Highly developed relationship management skills, with a track record of building credibility and trust with colleagues in Government, academia, industry and the NHS
