Full Job Description
This role supports the vision to enable even more effective and sustainable positive change for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. By supporting the Head of Impact - South, the Impact Manager will provide leadership, management and support for the grant-making and grant management process in the London region and will play a key part in implementing the UK-wide Grants Strategy, currently in development, and supporting the annual BBC Children in Need Appeal.
- You will act as a contact point across the voluntary and community sector and for key stakeholders throughout the BBC, across the BBC Children in Need fundraising community and beyond.
- You will also take responsibility for monitoring and reporting of grant management information and escalating issues to the Head of Impact for the South region as appropriate. This includes escalating risks to the Head of Impact - South as appropriate.
- You will also be responsible for line-managing the London team's Impact Officers, chairing and facilitating grant decision-making meetings and managing a geographical area and grant portfolio, working with stakeholders to facilitate the development and delivery of solutions for change for children and young people.
- You will be expected to travel within the London region on a regular basis in order to have face to face time with the team, to attend project visits and meet with key stakeholders in the region
- You will be expected to play a key role in contributing to the development and implementation of the grant making strategy
Substantial evidence of working with the voluntary sector, preferably in the grant-making and children and young people spheres. - Experience of managing grant-making or grant management processes.
- Line-management experience.
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate appropriately, in writing or verbally, with people of all types and at all levels.
- Ability to organise a large workload, prioritising appropriately, with the ability to work quickly but calmly to tight deadlines.
- Able to work flexibly, positively and autonomously in a small and often remotely located team. A high level of personal resilience is required to be successful in this hugely rewarding position where you give back to the community and change the lives of children and young people across the UK. You will be supported by a friendly team environment. The role will be CPF mapped to Senior Impact Officer.

BBC Children in Need is currently looking for a Continuing Impact Manager for the London region. This role will support the Head of Impact - South with all aspects of the team's work. Salary: £31,600 - £40,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
