Full Job Description

You'll join the UK & Ireland Marketing team reporting to the Senior Product Manager - Flame for Life & Blade Excellence. You will be primarily responsible for championing & supporting the long-term growth of BIC in the Flame for Life (Lighters) & Blade Excellence (Shavers) categories in order to deliver yearly volume & value targets. You will contribute to strategic elements such as assortment, go-to-market planning & NPD forecasting, as well as the development of trade & consumer marketing elements, including sell-in materials, trade presentations, POS, and campaign assets. The Flame for Life side of the role has a strong focus on trade-marketing, with the core driver of growth in lighters being distribution & visibility in-store. What You'll Do

  • Support the Senior Product Manager - Flame for Life & Blade Excellence with the development of the long-term strategies for both categories across both the UK & Irish markets.
  • Support on day-to-day brand management tasks associated with development, implementation, and management of the activation plans for the Flame for Life & Blade Excellence portfolios. For example, development of in-store promotional plans, pricing recommendations, range prioritisation, consumer activation (e.g. advertising, PR, experiential), key sales materials (e.g. POS, trade presenters, catalogues), NPD launch plans, commercial/financial scenario planning & tracking, and development of annual marketing plans.
  • Market analysis to ensure a close understanding of market data & insight across both categories using available data (e.g. IRI monthly reports, Kantar quarterly reports, KAM & marketing reports etc.)
  • Collaboration with KAMs and category management to understand market and customer dynamics, identifying new opportunities to drive growth and sharing actionable insights in relevant meetings.
  • Support, motivate and partner with the local sales teams and customers to deliver plans & results, including the development & delivery of trade presentations and conducting regular store visits.
  • Development, execution, and management of marketing communication campaigns, including agency briefings, internal media plan approvals with Digtial COE, and ongoing performance analysis, identifying opportunities for campaign optimisation.
  • Liaison with EU Marketing & Global teams on Flame for Life & Blade Excellence including attendance at regular meetings, sharing of local data and context to aid decision making, and provision of information for upcoming innovation launches.
  • Preparation, implementation, and monitoring of brand support budget, ensuring planned spend is within budget.
  • P&L management including P&L analysis for NPD, close tracking of P&L by SKU and channel, working closely with sales team to address gaps & identify opportunities.
  • Development of the UK BIC lighter business, working closely with UK KAM's to identify and evaluate opportunities for distribution growth.
  • Development of in-store and online shaver activations (e.g. retail media and promotions) to drive conversion and encourage loyalty.
  • Support the annual Flame for Life & Blade Excellence budget & forecast process (at key points in the year).
  • Coordinate with demand planning and supply chain to ensure timely availability of NPD, lighter décor ranges and newly created local codes
  • Manage the local SKU/code creation process for new products where required, working with central teams to ensure timely development and production (e.g. local lighter decors).
  • Presentations where required including in Leadership team meetings, customer trade presentations, town-hall meetings, sales meetings, conventions and other ad hoc meetings as required

    Higher Education (in Marketing or Business discipline preferred but not required)
  • At least 2-3 years relevant experience (e.g. Marketing / Sales / Category / Trade Marketing)
  • High level fluency of English required
  • Ability to use MS Office applications (Excel, Powerpoint and Word)
  • Understanding of UK and IRE retail environments
