Full Job Description

This role will be based on the university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

You will be responsible for managing and maintaining over 800 of the 1400+ University websites using a range of technologies and leading a team delivering and supporting services underpinning the university web presence. You will manage the development of new and existing websites used by current and prospective students, researchers, businesses and the wider public. You will be working closely with business analysts, application support analysts, test analysts, server administrators and IT security professionals to ensure that websites and web content management systems are fit for purpose and meet strategic and user requirements.
You will be responsible for leading and developing new functionality for university approved web content management systems, optimising enterprise search and optimising performance. You will be working across a range of technologies, systems and programming languages including PHP, HTML5, CSS, MySQL, JavaScript, WordPress, Jadu, Funnelback, GIT, Azure Dev Ops.
In a dynamic and intricate environment, your role as a Lead Engineer will encompass effective communication and consultation with stakeholders. You will document your work according to standard operating procedures, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, IT standards, and regulatory compliance.
