Full Job Description

Bumble is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our in-house Localisation Team as a Localisation Vendor Manager (Maternity Cover). In this fast-paced and dynamic environment, you will play a central role in our localisation efforts, facilitating the collaboration between our external localisation vendors (freelancers and agencies) and various internal departments within the company. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, and strong organisational abilities, as they will be working with over 100 freelancers. Additionally, a passion for languages, coupled with strategic thinking and technical proficiency in relevant tools, are essential qualities. You will closely support different areas of our department, including Marketing/Creative, Product Localisation, Localisation QA, providing them with the best localisation resources tailored to their needs. Moreover, being well-connected is crucial, as the ideal candidate should be able to quickly find freelancers whenever new needs arise. Your contributions will be instrumental in successfully coordinating day-to-day operations involving our external linguists and agencies, including recruitment, training, performance monitoring, payments, and more. Time of contract expected to go through June 2025. \n What you'll be doing

  • Managing day-to-day operations related to localisation freelancers and agencies.
  • Recruiting new resources to expand our database of linguists based on specific requests from internal teams, including testing their skills, conducting interviews, and negotiating rates.
  • Onboarding and training of new freelancers.
  • Maintaining updated records of external linguists in our database and offering information and guidance on suitable resources for ongoing and new projects.
  • Monitoring the performance of external linguists.
  • Establishing, building, and maintaining professional relationships to ensure the retention and engagement of linguists.
  • Taking responsibility for delivering general communication and announcements to all freelancers through email, internal chat, etc.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments to freelancers and vendors, including handling monthly invoices, payment approvals, and addressing any questions or issues raised by external vendors and freelancers.
  • Assisting with budgeting and expense reports for specific projects.
  • Escalating requests and reporting bugs identified by freelancers using our systems.

    3+ years of experience in the localisation industry.
  • Degree in Localisation/Translation, Communications, Linguistics, Foreign Language Studies or a related field, or equivalent training/experience.
  • Experience in a Vendor Manager role or similar
  • Experience in budget estimation, allocation, and cost control for localisation projects.
  • Proficiency in additional languages other than English is a significant advantage.
