Full Job Description

This role is core to ensuring our operations are resilient and able to recover quickly when something unexpected happens, ensuring we remain able to look after our customers, the safety and soundness of the business, and our colleagues. You will be responsible for supporting regular reviews of our Important Business Services, Resources, and Impact Tolerances as well as facilitating regular and increasingly sophisticated scenario testing. This is a collaborative role that will work across the London Market business unit and other areas of the Hiscox Group, including those business units utilising syndicate capacity to offer consumer facing products.,

  • Supporting the Operational Resilience Lead with maintaining accurate and up to date policy, procedure, resilience plans and other documents, as necessary.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to regularly review and maintain an up-to-date register of Consumer Products.
  • Supporting the Bi-annual review of important business services through stakeholder facilitation, responding to questions and queries, ensuring that we continue to correctly identify those services of most importance to our customers and to Hiscox.
  • Supporting the Bi-annual review of impact tolerance metrics, intolerable harm definitions and related business rationale in liaison with Important Business Service Owners, Department Heads and Senior Management in alignment with evolving regulatory guidance.
  • Supporting the Bi-annual review and maintenance of resource mapping information, aligning closely with the Important Business Service Owners, Procurement, Property Services, and IT.
  • Assisting in the development, design, and delivery of a broad range of resilience tests, including live testing, desktop exercises, data analysis, communication testing and simulation exercises.
  • Assisting in the delivery of, and documentation of lessons learned exercises following operational disruption within the business and factoring this into future scenario testing activities.
  • Keeping the Operational Resilience Lead up to date on progress as well as findings from all operational resilience related activities.
  • Assisting with the embedment and oversight of Operational Resilience across third party contracts, liaising with Procurement and Vendor Management as appropriate.
  • Assisting in the production of Operational Resilience MI and reporting for various stakeholders, Committees, and internal oversight groups.
  • Annual review of training material to ensure this is fit for purpose and completed.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective and collaborative relationships with Product and Business Service Owners, and other key stakeholders.

    Knowledge of FCA Operational Resilience regulations essential.
  • 2+ years' experience working in a business analyst role, ideally with good knowledge BCP and DR processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills considering different stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of general insurance products.
  • Ability to build professional relationships and work collaboratively across.
  • Ability to effectively plan and prioritise workload.
  • Ability to analyse data and root cause problem solve.
  • Able to identify risks/issues and respond appropriately.
  • Due diligence and attention to detail.
  • Able to act on initiative and make decisions.
