The Mechanical Analysis Group is looking for experienced stress engineers to join our team at Stevenage, UK. If a wide breadth of analysis domains, advanced aerospace structures and national defence excite you then this could be the role for you!, Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team. The opportunity: Principal Stress Engineers within our team are the experienced engineers who are able to independently complete structural analysis of varying complexity on all components and subsystems. They will work cross-functionally to ensure that work is delivered on time, on quality and on cost. Principal Engineers are also a key mentor and coach for the junior members of staff and contributes to process improvements for the Mechanical Analysis Group. The Mechanical Analysis Group is responsible for the structural and thermal performance of MBDA's military systems. We deliver structural and thermal analysis expertise across the whole product lifecycle from studies in the early concept stage and detailed development of engineering designs to manufacturing concessions and in-service support. • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering / science discipline or have significant experience in a relevant field (e.g. Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural Analysis etc.).
• Proven experience in estimating, planning, leading and delivering a variety of structural analysis work packages, using both classical hand calculation methods and CAE tools (Hyperworks desirable).
• Proficient at preparing and presenting comprehensive technical reports, conveying complex findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management.
• Proactive and passionate about developing and improving methods, processes and tools.
• Able to mentor and support junior engineers providing technical expertise and fostering their professional growth.
• Self-motivated individuals who are great problem solvers, can take responsibility and work independently as well as a part of multi-disciplinary team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to network, influence and manage internal and external stakeholders.
• The nature of our work requires candidates to be able to obtain SC clearance
• Willingness to obtain and hold DV clearance will be an asset.
