Full Job Description
You will be solving problems with varying technical complexity, ensuring the teams are heading in the right direction strategically while also keeping them on track day to day. In order to do this, you will:
- Turn company strategy into team strategy. You will be working with other leaders across the company to determine the right direction for your teams to move in, while collaborating with the team to determine what is possible. You will be the one who combines these two forces to decide the correct goals for the team.
- Prioritise the work to be done. There are many opportunities we could go after, and many different solutions, but time and resources are limited. You'll need to work with analysts and researchers to help identify the most impactful customer problems we need to solve, and work with designers and engineers in design sprints to craft creative & viable solutions.
- Take responsibility for delivery. Once your goals are defined, it is your responsibility to ensure the team delivers on the goals. You will ensure the teams are tackling the correct problems and you will work side by side with them, giving them support and unblocking them when necessary.
- Liaise with stakeholders. You will be communicating with senior colleagues across the company to keep them apprised of the progress your team is making throughout the year. Strong inter-team communication feeds into the work of coming up with future strategic goals.
Product Management: You have some solid foundational years behind you, ideally working on solving customer facing problems in a commercially driven organisation. Experience managing a successful product or feature throughout its lifecycle, from ideation through to experimentation and scaling. - Stakeholder management: You are comfortable to work with a range of stakeholders. You work hard to earn their trust and buy-in but also push back whenever necessary.
- Agile: You have solid experience working within agile frameworks. You know how to work with an engineering team to prove fast, iterate, and pivot when necessary.
- Analytics: Hands-on experience and proficiency with using product analytics to understand customer behaviour. You are able to make data-informed decisions that inform your product roadmap. You are comfortable with A/B testing concepts and are able to draw conclusions from incomplete data.
- Technical: You can pitch in during technical design discussions & whiteboarding, and can reason about large technical projects. Previous experience as an engineer is not necessary.
- Prioritisation: You can ruthlessly prioritise while also balancing priority opportunities against necessary day-to-day maintenance work.
- Communication: You are able to communicate clearly with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders and be humble when sharing ideas with everyone on the team.
- Attention to detail: You are inquisitive and want to dive deep into any problem, to understand the underlying mechanics.
- Impact focus: You have a strong desire to see your work result in changes across our company, leading to significant business impact. You collaborate with your team to prove fast and deliver impactful results.
- Inclusive: You contribute to an inclusive and positive working environment for everyone. Things that matter to us:
- You care deeply about delivering a fantastic shopping experience for our customers and are commercially driven, getting a kick out of driving increases in things like conversion rate, monetisation and sign up rate
- You are comfortable with a level of ambiguity - sometimes we need to explore completely new problem spaces and be able to experiment to find the best solution
- You are pragmatic and you like engaging with hard problems
- You are highly analytical and data-curious. You're well versed in qualitative and quantitative analytics and know when to lean on user research or A/B testing
- You are a team player and communicate with your peers and other stakeholders in the company on a day to day basis
- You enjoy nurturing your colleagues and empowering the team to the fullest of their ability
- You thrive on working in a fast paced environment.
- You're interested in artificial intelligence and machine learning, and are able to apply product thinking to get the best out of the technology
