As our Product Marketing Director, you will lead the development and execution of comprehensive product marketing strategies for Corndel's programme portfolio (Apprenticeships, Degree Apprenticeships and Commercial Training). You will align and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, strategy, enablement and sales to drive product success and market growth. We believe great product marketing, goes beyond the basics of segmenting customers, positioning products, creating collateral, and supporting sales teams. It achieves much more by directing the best way to bring a product to market, shaping what the world thinks about the product and its category, and inspiring others to tell the product's story. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to build Corndel's first dedicated product marketing function and set the standard on what brilliance looks like. This role reports to Corndel's Chief Marketing Officer. Responsibilities:
- Product Marketing Engine: Lead the creation of Corndel's product marketing capability. Create and refine ways of working, frameworks and canvasses for success.
- Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy: Develop, support, and drive the GTM strategy for new and existing products, creating impactful positioning and messaging. Ensure directional marketing and channel strategy is provided to the appropriate marketing specialist team to build upon and execute. You'll coordinate disparate teams to formulate winning foundational plans. Alongside Product, partner with Enablement to launch new products and messaging to Sales.
- Positioning and Differentiation: Develop clear, distinctive product positioning and unique selling propositions (USPs) based on in-depth understanding of buyer needs, competitive landscape, and Corndel's value proposition. Define product positioning strategies that highlight the benefits and differentiators in a way that resonates with target audiences.
- Product Team Collaboration: Collaborate with Product teams to provide insight and help shape new products from the pre-ideation stage through market testing and launch. Ensure feedback loops are created for iterative learning and refinement to create product-market fit.
- Customer Insights and Market Research: Own market research and insight for the Marketing team, including line managing this area. Deeply understand customer needs and market trends through research and analytics. Synthesise insights to identify the salient gems that define strategy. Gather and analyse buyer feedback across all touchpoints, incorporating insights to adjust messaging, address buyer objections, and refine the go-to-market strategy.
- Buyer Persona and Journey Mapping: Conduct extensive research into buyer personas to understand their pain points, motivations, and decision-making criteria. With B2B and B2C Marketing teams use buyer journeys to align product features and messaging at each stage of the customer lifecycle.
- Performance Tracking and Optimization: Measure the success of product marketing initiatives by tracking relevant metrics and KPIs. Use data-driven insights to continuously drive and optimise strategies and tactics.
- Product Assets: Provide directional guidance to the appropriate marketing managers to ensure all product content is highly impactful. Collaborate as needed to ensure Sales have the tools to sell: for example, collateral, impact stories, launch decks, insight session decks, playbooks and battlecards., We're committed to having a fully inclusive, welcoming and safe culture and always striving to improve.
- We provide an environment that is truly flexible and supportive, somewhere you will have autonomy over your role.
- We're a leader in our field, with quality and excellence at the heart of what we do. As part of our commitment to create an inclusive workplace where all colleagues can be their true selves, excel in their roles and progress in their careers, we recognise the importance of embracing the diversity in the working population and making Corndel a fully accessible employer.
