It is vital that you demonstrate how you meet the 'essential' criteria listed in the attached Person Specification, in order to secure an interview: How to apply - guidance for applicants | Torfaen County Borough Council.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the programme management function of a new Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) within the Council. The HDRC will boost research capacity and embed a culture of always using evidence when making decisions. The Council has secured 5 year funding from the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) to establish this new and innovative collaboration, that will carry out research to identify how the Council can improve community health and reduce health inequality.

We are looking for an experienced project manager who will provide effective programme management for the HDRC in terms of governance, budget management and reporting. Working with the Senior Research Fellows, you will take a lead on applying for grant funding to further meet the research objectives of the HDRC.

The HDRC will be working with teams across the Council, University of South Wales, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB), third sector partners and the community, and therefore you will need excellent partnership working skills and have the ability to build successful relationships.

You will be responsible for the line management of the teams Data Analyst and Team Administrator, and therefore need to demonstrate robust management, leadership and interpersonal skills.

This is a great opportunity for you to be part of a new research collaborative and to contribute towards making a difference to citizens in Torfaen. If you are passionate about making a difference and have the skills and experience we are looking for, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

We offer flexible working, family friendly policies, a generous pension scheme and generous holiday entitlement.
