We are looking for a Project Manager to manage the day to day running of projects within the National Student Mental Health Partnership Programme (NSMHPP) North Wales office. The role will be based at Bangor University within Student Support & Wellbeing, supporting the development of standardising Student Mental Health data across Wales in post-16 education., We are looking for a Project Manager to manage the day to day running of projects within the National Student Mental Health Partnership Programme (NSMHPP) North Wales office. The role will be based at Bangor University within Student Support& Wellbeing, supporting the development of standardising Student Mental Health data across Wales in post-16 education. The role holder will be motivated and enthusiastic, with a keen eye for attention to detail, as well as a proactive approach. Due to the collaborative nature of the work which includes staff from Student Services teams from all Higher and Further Education providers in Wales, the role holder should be a good communicator, with experience in multi-disciplinary or partnership working.The Project The National Student Mental Health Partnership Programme includes workstreams with all Welsh Higher Education Institutes, Further Education Institutes and NHS Health Boards, though this post will mainly focus on projects in North Wales. The programme is jointly funded to develop a shared programme of work which will improve access to mental health support for post-16 education students in Wales. The funding is secured until July 2025. Subject to funding confirmation there is the potential for the post to be extended further to support ongoing development and delivery.Purpose of the Job Manage the day to day running of projects within the National Student Mental Health Partnership Programme (NSMHPP) North Wales office.Main Duties and Responsibilities Key Duties
- Provide professional advice and guidance on project management processes and procedures to internal and external customers that will have institution or national impact, using judgement and creativity to suggest the most appropriate course of action where appropriate, and ensuring complex and conceptual issues are understood.
- Take responsibility for resolving issues independently within the programme office where they fall within set role objectives.
- Investigate and analyse specific issues within the projects identified within the National Programme, creating recommendation reports, supported by advances within the programme office.
- Ensure that the provision of project management assessments, processes and reporting is delivered to the programme, proactively changing the delivery according to partner or stakeholder requirements.
- Establish working relationships with key contacts, developing appropriate communication links with the programmes partners and teams and outside bodies as required.
- Resilient and tough minded with confidence and energy, with ability to constructively challenge thinking whilst maintaining rapport.
- Create specific working groups from colleagues across the programme to achieve the project objectives.
- Plan and deliver specific projects, co-ordinating and supervising project teams created as needed.
- Develop and deliver identified training within the programme.
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the department.
- Instruct and guide other employees across the University about the programme and its objectives. Other Duties and Responsibilities General Duties
- Ensure that an understanding of the importance of confidentiality is applied when undertaking all duties.
- The post holder will be expected to participate in performance review and developmental activities.

- Degree/NVQ 4 or equivalent.
- Professional membership/experience (APM, PRINCE2 , APMG Agile, MSP ). Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Substantial experience of working within a project management discipline.
- Able to demonstrate professional knowledge within project management to give advice and guidance to internal and external customers.
- Proven experience in developing new processes and procedures. Customer Service, Communication and Team Working
- Ability to communicate conceptually detailed and complex information effectively and professionally with a wide range of people.
- Evidence of ability to explore customers' needs and adapt the service accordingly to ensure a quality service is delivered.
- Proven ability to develop networks in order to contribute to long term developments. Planning, Analysis and Problem solving
- Evidence of ability to solve expansive problems using initiative and creativity; identify and propose both practical and innovative solutions.
- Evidence of demonstrable knowledge of key advances within specialist discipline.
- Evidence of ability to undertake and deliver specific projects and supervise short term project teams. Desirable
- Postgraduate/Professional qualification.
- Experience of delivery of data improvement projects.
- Experience of working in a Higher Education or NHS environment.
- The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is desirable for this role. If applicants are not able to speak/write in Welsh at present, there are many opportunities to learn if the successful candidate wishes to do so.

This role will be located on campus at Bangor with frequent travel across North Wales and occasional travel to other locations throughout Wales. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.,
