Full Job Description
The Project Proposal Engineer will be required to meet customer due dates, provide quality proposals and execution support post-order, reduce commercial risk, and deliver high service standards to both internal and external customers. Once an order is received, it will be the project engineer's responsibility to load the order within the system and provide a clean handover to the facilities and Order/Project Management. This engineer will lead continuous improvement in Project Engineering to increase efficiency and improve Customer Value and Experience. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- To ensure that all Request for Quotations (RFQ) are logged accurately onto the sales CRM (Customer Relationship Management) System and provide feedback on quotes as the need arises.
- To review the RFQ package to settle the best outcome for Emerson, based on customer specifications, competitive situation, our capabilities, and supply chain.
- To prepare and issue inquiries to selected vendors, evaluate their proposals and ensure that high-quality, compliant proposals are prepared and submitted within agreed timescales. Immediately address bid clarification requests and revise the proposal accordingly.
- To review customer Purchase Orders (PO) against project quotations and associated clarifications, for technical and commercial compliance, address all anomalies, and request customer PO amendments as required.
- To participate in pre-award meetings, Kick-off Meetings (KOM), and pre-inspection meetings (as required) with customers, suppliers and Project and Order Management to ensure customer and Emerson are fully engaged and aligned with project requirements
- Other responsibilities or tasks that are within your skills and abilities, whenever reasonably instructed. Who You Are: You serve as a strategic partner to build, grow, and maintain profitable and long-lasting relationships with key accounts. You readily distinguish between what's relevant and what's unimportant to make sense of sophisticated situations. You encourage open discussions with a wide array of customers and partners. You try multiple times using multiple methods to find the right solution.
- Qualification in an engineering field or clear demonstration of shown experience.
- Strong understanding of business principles and an ability to identify commercial opportunities.
- Strong ability to navigate a sophisticated organizational structure and develop strong working relationships with multi-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a demanding environment and capable of working to deadlines., A consistent record of leading major project work, including exposure to the EPC contractor community.
- Experience in selling within a multi-product line engineering business.
- Confident and proficient knowledge of business systems i.e. Oracle.
- Ability to travel 10-20% of the time to fulfill the role requirements and customer needs at short notice.
- English proficiency to business standards is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word, is required. Familiarity with digital tools is a plus.
