Full Job Description

The role of the Recovery Support Practitioner is to assist the RSP Manager in the Next Steps Recovery Hub. You will support the development of a recovery community, including provision of group and 1:1 support work, and facilitate delivery. You will undertake the planning and delivery of direct member care with minimal supervision, ensuring continuity of practice and working within a multi-discipline and multi-agency environment. You will maintain records and plans enabling person-centred support. You will work in partnership with the weekday staff and flexibly to provide cover during other hours when appropriate.,

  • To work together with the RSP Manager to design and plan group and 1:1
  • interventions.
  • To facilitate the delivery of group sessions.
  • Recruiting members onto group work through building relationships with
  • agencies and referral pathways.
  • To manage referrals and undertake assessments liaising with weekend staff
  • over the assessment of suitability of candidates to recovery support at weekends.
  • To undertake and maintain risk assessments referring safeguarding
  • concerns as appropriate.
  • To support volunteers, providing them with clear guidance and support
  • To ensure the teachers/trainers/counsellors have what they need in terms of
  • resources to deliver sessions.
  • To lead sessions based on experience, expertise, and training.
  • To create and maintain Individual Support Plans, meeting with members
  • regularly to ensure appropriate support is identified.
  • To ensure members are enabled and empowered to make informed
  • decisions about their Individual Support Plans.
  • To work with the RSP Manager and Recovery Hub Manager to ensure the
  • centre is a safe environment, looking to prevention of issues but also using de-escalation techniques in the case of conflict.
  • Provide support, advice, and information to those contacting the service
  • concerning all areas related to their health and general well-being and, where appropriate, to refer members to other TMP services or to other relevant services.
  • To enable members to gain and maintain recovery.
  • To maintain contact with members/potential members where members are
  • not currently engaging with the service (waiting for a course to start/returning from relapse)
  • To actively encourage, support and facilitate members in participation and co
  • production activities.
  • Provide outreach support and services in the community as needed.
  • To work towards meeting KPI's, data collected and reported in an accurate
  • and timely manner. General Requirements

  • personal development review/plans.
  • Actively participate in training and education.
  • Ensure that personal appearance, practice, and manner conform to the
  • standards and expectations of the Matthew Project.
  • Comply with all Matthew Project policies, guidelines, and protocols.
  • To undertake other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the post
  • as required. Record-Keeping
  • Keep appropriate records of work performed as required.
  • Collect, input and report data to assist in the monitoring and evaluation of
  • the post.
  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance and storage of records in
  • accordance with the Matthew Project policy, including email documents and with regard to Data Protection legislation, the Freedom of Information Act and other relevant statutory requirements. Training will be provided in appropriate information management for the post. Risk Management/Health and Safety In accordance with the relevant policies and procedures of the Matthew Project and relevant legislation, the post holder has a responsibility to themselves and others in relation to managing risk, health and safety. Confidentiality The post holder is required to maintain confidentiality of information in accordance with professional and Matthew Project policy. The post holder may access information only on a need-to-know basis in the direct discharge of their duties and divulge information only in the proper course of their duties. This job description is an outline and account of the main duties required to carry out the post. It will be reviewed periodically to reflect changes and developments in service requirements. The post holder is advised that they have a responsibility to ensure they are familiar with their terms and conditions of service detailed in the contract of employment.

    Starting Salary: £17,567 per annum (28 hours) pro rata of £23,214 Hours: 28 hours over 4 days (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu)
