Full Job Description

offer a range of services to children and their carers including structured based on evidence-informed practice principles that aim to prevent offending and anti-social behaviour and manage the risk of harm children present to themselves and others
- deliver restorative interventions, which will include working with victims of youth crime
- attend Youth Courts (when trained and as required)
- have access to a range of specialist services and be based within a multi-agency team
- be required to work some weekends and evenings
- be expected to work towards the Youth Justice Effective Practice Certificate (YJEPC) unless you already hold it or an equivalent qualification. The YJEPC will be fully funded by Suffolk Youth Justice Service.

You will need
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and guidance as appropriate to role
- Experience of collaborative work with families
- Ability to recognise and act on Child Protection and risk issues and escalate as appropriate

The team
Suffolk Youth Justice Service is a multi-agency partnership hosted by Suffolk County Council that focuses on addressing youth crime and its impacts. The service works with children who are involved in or at risk of entering the Youth Justice System, as well as their parents, carers, and the victims of youth crime. Its primary aim is twofold: to prevent offending by children and young people while also protecting the public from potential harm caused by their behavior. Simultaneously, the service is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of these young individuals, striving to enhance their life aspirations and opportunities. This comprehensive approach allows the Suffolk Youth Justice Service to address the complex issues surrounding youth crime while supporting the positive development of the children involved.

£32,076 to £34,834 per annum (pro rata if part time) - starting salary
