Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced individual as a Safeguarding and Project Delivery Specialist. This dual role would encompass taking a lead on Youth Safeguarding duties whilst also supporting wider project delivery. This dynamic and exciting opportunity would enable the post holder to make a significant impact on the lives of young people by ensuring their safety and well-being while contributing to the successful delivery of our mental health support programmes. As a key member of the Youth Team, you will be responsible for providing expert safeguarding guidance, support, and training, ensuring the safety of our service users. You will work closely with schools, external agencies, and the wider Groundwork organisation/youth team to identify, assess, and manage safeguarding concerns daily. In addition, you will play a vital role in the overall delivery of our range of Youth Team projects, contributing to our ongoing impact and success, particularly in the borough of Southwark. This is a new role within the team so the candidate must be a self-starter who excels at identifying and managing risk with a high level of resilience to lead on the Youth Teams safeguarding functions. You will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively manage safeguarding cases and build positive relationships with stakeholders. Groundwork Benefits Groundwork staff participate in regular CPD opportunities to support their professional growth. The Groundwork Youth Team also provides whole team Wellbeing Days allowing colleagues to take the day off from their regular workday to socialise and participate in a range of activities to support positive wellbeing and team cohesion. Employees for Groundwork London receive Health Shield benefits which allow staff to claim money back for a wide variety of health and wellbeing services including dental work, opticians' appointments and massages. A Greener London Groundwork London works with communities across the capital to transform their lives and the places they live. We have been at the forefront of social and environmental regeneration in London for over 25 years, and today we have a simple mission: to create better places, improve people's prospects, and promote greener living and working. We are passionate about creating a future where every neighbourhood is vibrant and green, every community is strong and able to shape its own destiny, and no-one is held back by their background or circumstance. Key requirements:

  • Lead on Youth Safeguarding: Act as the first responder to safeguarding concerns, and managing safeguarding caseloads to ensure the safety and well-being of young people.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools and external agencies, including Social Services and CAMHS, to effectively address safeguarding issues.
  • Training and Guidance: Provide expert safeguarding guidance and deliver training to the Youth Team and other relevant stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and well-being for service users.
  • Project Delivery Support: Contribute to the development and implementation of Youth Team project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets while monitoring progress and identifying potential risks.
