Full Job Description

The Semi-skilled Craftsman will be responsible for undertaking maintenance, routine inspections, installation, fault finding, repairs, and services on the full range of equipment, services and fabric related items in the Peterborough City Hospital and associated buildings.,

  • Work with minimal supervision and attend to all reactive and planned jobs dealing with electrical / mechanical type issues to level of competence.
  • Make necessary repairs, to level of competence and assist with contractors as required.
  • Understand the working of, appreciate, and gain knowledge of electrical / mechanical installations to level of competence.
  • Perform regular tests as per HTM as detailed in PPM's and all relevant statutory requirements.
  • Use all relevant tools and equipment and undertake cleaning tasks as appropriate.
  • Support the Management and Technical team to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with contract KPI's including contractual response times.
  • Take responsibility for own learning and development by recognising and taking advantage of all opportunities to learn, including full participation in appraisal, supervision, action learning and by maintaining a professional / personal portfolio of learning.

  • To undertake any other duties as required, which are consistent with the grade and nature of the post. What do I need to be successful in this role?
  • Experience in electrical engineering or mechanical services engineering.
  • Flexibility to work the hours that support and enable the needs of the client to be met.
