Full Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Asset Surveyor to join our team based in Salisbury within the Property Services department. As Senior Asset Surveyor you will be responsible for delivering quality capital investments, surveying and compliance services. Providing support and management to Asset Surveyors whilst maintaining the Groups objectives and ensuring a positive customer experience. The role of Senior Asset Surveyor will include:

  • Monitoring capital and revenue projects, consultants and contractors' performance and liaise with other departments to ensure work is carried out promptly and in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Carrying out inspections and surveys to assess requirements for capital projects in line with organisational policies and procedures
  • Identifying and commissioning targeted, value for money reinvestment plans to ensure the ongoing fit for purpose nature of the stock in support of Group objectives
  • Managing contractors in accordance with their contractual terms, making recommendations for improvements and implementing actions as appropriate
  • Ensuring investment works are compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements and make appropriate recommendations on changes that may need to be made mid-project to ensure full compliance and consistent delivery of services.
  • Producing appropriate documentation for work specifications and tenders and providing accurate and timely information for management reports.
  • Managing works related to stock condition surveys and property inspections within agreed financial limits
  • Managing the recruitment, performance, training and development of quality people to ensure required skilled employees are available to meet the needs of the service.

  • We work closely with the Home Office in order to prevent unlawful working. A basic Disclosure and Barring Service check will be necessary in the event of a successful application which we will pay for. Sanctuary Maintenance Contractors Limited is a subsidiary of Sanctuary Housing Association, an exempt charity.

  • To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to AssocRIC,MRICS CIOB or Degree, HND or HNC in Surveying, currently undertaking the qualification or prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group.
  • Proven experience in a building and surveying environment
  • Working knowledge of building regulations, legislation and current practices
  • Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
  • Experience of utilising the NHF schedule of rates with contractors
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.

  • Role Salary is dependent on successful candidate's home location/ local office base as below:
  • London area - Role salary is £45,112 with an additional policy allowance of £13,856 per annum (rising to £48,539 with an additional policy allowance of £14,586 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
  • South East region - Role salary is £44,016 with an additional policy allowance of £5,686 per annum (rising to £46,333 with an additional policy allowance of £5,986 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
  • Elsewhere in the UK - Role salary is £41,920 with an additional policy allowance of £5,416 per annum (rising to £44,127 with an additional policy allowance of £5,701 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
