If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you., The post holder will be expected to support the business needs of the Primary and Secondary Care Communications team, servicing the Chief Operating Officer's Directorate.
This role primarily focuses on primary care and community services. Our key priorities for 24/25 include delivering communications and engagement to support the delivery of the Primary Care Access Recovery Plan, the Dentistry Recovery Plan and Community Services waiting lists.
The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across their assigned role. They will manage high quality, insight-led communications and engagement for their assigned area(s) that is measurable, impactful and helps policy, products and services to succeed. The role will develop communications and engagement strategies and plans for their assigned area(s)., · Manage the development compelling, integrated, content to best achieve the aims and objectives in their assigned area(s) contributing to forward-planning and gridding processes
· Managing communications and engagement objectives for assigned area(s), aligning them to the communications objectives for NHSE and the overall strategy and business plan of NHSE,
· Manage strategic collaboration and coordination with national, regional and other directorate communications functions in delivering against the directorate, national communications and organisational strategic objectives.
· Deliver high quality communications content as required
· Brief and support members of the Directorate Executive ahead of media and stakeholder engagement events as required
Fixed Term Contract

This role sits within a team delivering communication and engagement advice, support and management across the Elective, Outpatients, Cancer and Diagnostics directorates.
Working at a fast pace, this role suits candidates that are passionate about delivering excellent communication to support teams delivering for patients.
The ability to understand complex clinical and commissioning arrangements and communicate in clear concise methods appropriate for the audiences targeted will be key. The candidate will be flexible and responsive, working on a proactive and reactive basis often needing to switch the work they are doing to focus on the most time sensitive activity. The role involves working with both directorate teams and central communications colleagues including media, stakeholder, social media and strategic planning and publishing; excellent networking, listening and people skills are crucial.
The ability to consider and judge required action and responses appropriately is an important part of the role in order to guide and advise directorate teams on the most suitable approach for their programme of work, and the methods of communications best suited to their audiences. Planning and project management skills are essential as there will be conflicting calls on time, a calm demeanour and practical mindset will be an asset.
