Full Job Description

The General Insurance (GI) Partnerships team works with colleagues across LBG and with external partners to provide General Insurance solutions across Motor, Business, Pet, and Health Insurance for LBG customers. This area of the business has seen considerable growth over the past 5 years and aspire to grow significantly further through expanding our product offering and further utilising the skills, capabilities and assets of the wider Group. It is a particularly exciting time for you to join the team as we lay out our strategy to introduce several new products and work with some new and well-known insurance partners. We have key achievements set to deliver during 2025 which will open greater opportunity for the use of data and to expand our product portfolios and achieve our growth ambitions. As Senior Manager, your role is essential to the success of our business. You'll use your General Insurance expertise, strong interpersonal skills and commercial savvy to develop the strategy, drive improved commercial performance, and maintain positive relationships with our business partners. The team is also responsible for coordinating all aspects of the product development, external relationships, trading performance, pricing decisions and risk management meaning that the role provides a phenomenal opportunity build a breadth of understanding across all aspects associated with running an insurance business, as well as helping to lead and develop a well-established team to be their best. This role will also bring opportunities to develop your profile within Insurance, deputising for the GI Partnerships Lab owner at various forums when required. What you'll be doing:

  • Deliver key business plan objectives, acting on any adverse variances from forecast and make sound commercial decisions.
  • Develop and implement the business strategy and ambitions for our partnerships business, building advocacy and engagement with key collaborators across the Group.
  • Work with internal/external partners and research market competitors to find opportunities to improve our customer offering and experience. Lead all aspects of external partners' operational performance and service levels, ensuring any issues are addressed with action plans agreed and in place.
  • Ensure all appropriate governance is followed in respect of the development and implementation of customer propositions, products and process changes. Ensure the products provided to our customers provide value and deliver fair customer outcomes, with regular reviews undertaken in line with policy.
  • Enforce to the Risk Management Framework to handle risks, adhere to the Group's policies, procedures, and satisfy fully all legal and regulatory responsibilities. Ensure an effective system of control exists for the identification, understanding, management and reporting of risks.
  • You'll be responsible for leading a team of colleagues in developing and implementing the strategy for our businesses. Mentor and develop individual team members to support them in achieving their goals and to perform at their best and support the team by breaking down barriers. Build, nurture and encourage an encouraging team environment and culture.

    Extensive knowledge of General Insurance products and markets with a solid understanding of the regulatory environment.
  • A strong ability to understand business dynamics and a track record of delivering effective business outcomes.
  • A customer centric approach.
  • Sound people leadership skills with experience of successfully leading a team. You'll have excellent people development experience and flexible management style.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills both internally and externally with partners and other suppliers
