Full Job Description

As part of the Service & Customer Support group within ISPD, the Applications engineering team are the primary technical interface with 3rd party customers and are responsible for product integration into customers machines, from engine selection, validation through to production. The role will require an element of regional and global travel to support key customer projects across multiple sectors including Industrial, Agriculture and EP for both CAT and Perkins brand 0.5L to 62L+ engines. We have a senior level opportunity within the team. This will allow the candidate to broaden their technical and commercial experience, as well as develop deep expertise with our product and market segments, customer product requirements, machine performance, New Product Introduction (NPI) and customer management. What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with customers and leadership to scope and execute projects that meet the needs of the business.
  • Keep up to date on new technologies and drive continuous improvement to established techniques.
  • Own customer technical relationship from project concept to delivery, supporting sales, acting as customer trusted advisor providing deep expertise on engine integration.
  • Propose best technical engine solutions to customers to ensure Perkins/Caterpillar is selected as primary engine supplier to meet the customers project goals for quality, time and cost.
  • Advise how to improve machine efficiency & performance through ideal engine selection, knowledge of customer's machines, rapid response to issues and requests for new designs.
  • Approving customer machines for production by judging approval risk and balancing high installation standards with customers experience and machine requirements.
  • Develop the technical expertise and A&I capabilities of the Caterpillar Dealers and Perkins Distributors to give a world-class service.
  • Capture customer/ market sector future technical requirements and input these into the Product definition teams and NPI programmes
  • Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

  • Technical Skills you will demonstrate:
  • Strong technical background - ideally educated to degree level in mechanical, electronic, electrical or control systems engineering; however, consideration will be given to other qualifications or significant job-related experience in lieu of this.
