Full Job Description

Key areas of focus include leading on the implementation of routine and reactive inspections; co-ordinating management and maintenance regimes; delivering improvement projects; and providing expert advice and support to internal and external stakeholders.

With a relevant degree level and/or substantive specialist training and experience in public rights of way and access management, you will have excellent prioritisation, organisation and communication skills; and proven ability to innovate and problem solve., We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Public Rights of Way and Country Parks Team at Devon County Council. We are recruiting for a Senior Public Rights of Way Officer (Access and Trails) to lead our southern area warden team, responsible for looking after some of the UK's most popular and well-regarded recreational trails, routes, and paths, including parts of the Southwest Coast Path and King Charles III England Coast Path National Trails.

Based from our Exeter office, and covering an area stretching from the Tamar to the Somerset and Dorset borders, this post has a key role in management, maintenance, and improvement of the public rights of way, off-road multi-use trails, unclassified county roads, and wider countryside access network. This includes enhancing and promoting the County's network of more than 5000 km of paths - helping to encourage and support health and wellbeing, environmental sustainability, and economic vitality., DCC embraces the positive benefits of a diverse workforce and is committed to providing an environment that is inclusive and safe.
