Full Job Description

We are currently looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join ITV's Commercial Technology and Change team. You'll be joining a recently kick-started engineering initiative that's developing cloud-centric engineering products that are re-imagining ITVs advertising business. You will also play a key role in shaping and growing our inclusive engineering culture. The role will entail but not be limited to:

  • Help to define, implement and monitor the stability, efficiency and performance of our application stack
  • Develop tooling to gather heuristics and metrics across the environment and implement improvements
  • Use your knowledge of DevOps practices alongside software engineering principles to contribute towards our codebase and automate your changes
  • Capture useful events in our observability platform (DataDog) to better understand the application and how it's performing
  • Have a role in defining and enabling a good engineering culture
  • Contribute to platform infrastructure design, improvements and deployments
  • Follow best DevOps and DevSecOps practices, to ensure successful delivery, observability, operation and security of software in production
  • Work with test and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Embed yourself into engineering scrum teams, supporting their platform and site reliability requirements

    Substantial experience with AWS specifically with Serverless/SaaS technologies (Lambda, Eventbridge, AppSync, Step Functions, ECS, API Gateway)
  • Confident in Infrastructure as code frameworks (Terraform, Cloudformation)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines solutions
  • Knowledge of application monitoring solutions (such as DataDog) and using data to troubleshoot issues
  • Experience providing guidance and recommendations as part of the decision-making process
  • Experience in the full software development lifecycle
  • Other things we're looking for (key criteria)
  • Knowledge and experience of agile/lean processes and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Node.JS, GraphQL, JavaScript
  • Use and integration of source control systems
