Prime Video is disrupting the traditional television and movie industry with a growing library of high-quality media including TV shows, movies and live events including must-see exclusive series like The Boys, Utopia, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Man in the High Castle, English Premier League, Thursday Night Football and more.

To help a growing organization scale features to Prime Video customers, our Resilience Engineering organization is innovating on behalf of our global software development team consisting of thousands of engineers. The team is building scale testing solutions that will simulate customer demand along various business dimensions and leverage this to inform and automate scaling across our global software environment.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage and grow a team of software engineers, including their projects, performance, and career growth
- Foster a strong team culture
- Interface with internal customers to understand requirements, set priorities, clearly communicate project roadmaps with your team, management, and principal stakeholders
- Develop operational metrics for your team's software and manage the agile development process and methodology
- Develop long-term technology strategies.

A day in the life
You will apply your deep knowledge to concrete problems our engineering teams face on a daily basis. You will lead the engineering team to design and deliver enterprise-scale systems that will be used by both internal and external customers. You will help set and continuously evolve a culture of innovation and efficiency that helps us deliver a best in class customer experience. You will own end to end technical components and framework focused on technology and services needed to build, scale, and operate an Amazon-caliber customer experience. You will work with internal and external stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and end-users around the world at all levels.

Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience in engineering
- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
- Experience working directly within engineering teams
- Experience managing engineers
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
