Full Job Description

Join our integrated Commissioning Team of MEICA and Process Engineers as a Software Engineer. In this role, you 'll work hands-on with cutting-edge automation and control systems, playing a key part in the safe and efficient start-up of Water and Water Recycling capital projects. This role involves working with and modifying PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and telemetry systems across various projects to bring new treatment plants online. Full training in Anglian Water telemetry systems will be provided.,

  • Collaborate on full project lifecycles, from design to coding, testing, and documentation, ensuring systems meet safety and functional standards.
  • Support in planning site acceptance tests, identifying automation risks, and preparing Risk Assessments & Method Statements for on-site system testing.
  • Conduct in-depth testing, configuration, and modification of Schneider and Allen Bradley PLC systems, HMI, SCADA, and telemetry systems to meet functional specifications.
  • Engage in Integrated Factory Acceptance Testing (IFAT), input/output tests, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for new systems to ensure they are fully operational and reliable.
  • Liaise with commissioning engineers on fault-finding, control system optimizations, and handover of new automated systems, including training operational staff.

    Technical Proficiency in PLC programming, ideally with Schneider and Allen Bradley systems, and experience with HMI and SCADA configuration.
  • Hands-on Testing Experience in factory and site acceptance testing (IFAT and SAT), and familiarity with control systems and automation processes.
  • Analytical Problem Solving skills, particularly in fault finding, optimization, and risk mitigation for automated control systems.
  • Documentation Skills for creating test documentation, technical handover materials, and red-lining Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
  • Strong Communication and Collaboration abilities, with experience liaising across teams to support project timelines and operational training needs.
  • Health & Safety Awareness in preparing Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and compliance with safety standards for testing procedures.
