Full Job Description

A great opportunity is available to join the Core Payments Technology Team as a Software Engineer Test Manager. This is a very exciting time for the Payments Technology Team as we transform how we operate and our technical landscape to meet evolving customer expectations and industry changes. In this key role you will shape and lead the test deliveries, working closely with the Payments Centre of Excellence and key suppliers such as PagoNxt, to make a real difference to our business. You will provide extensive leadership skills combined with ingenuity and drive to deliver quality solutions. The difference you'll make:

  • Driving the implementation of testing strategies of all relevant Payments technology changes on 'Payments Hub' - core product of Santander's global payments provider PagoNxt
  • Operating as key liaison for our vendors and clients to assess quality of test deliverables and incorporate into E2E testing within Santander UK estate
  • Implementing automation strategy, automation frameworks and applying automated tools to support application testing
  • Leading the design of end-to-end quality assurance policies, strategies and standards and its documentation. Performs security checks of systems and monitors quality metrics
  • Liaising with the Testing Centre of Excellence to evolve the QA team's standards, policies, procedures, and key performance indicators, to support consistent high-quality output
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external service suppliers to ensure Service Agreements are adhered to and all services are compliant with Ring-Fencing regulation, Expert in implementing and executing Web and API automation test strategies across inter-dependant systems and multiple clients, in the Payments domain

    Excellent stakeholder engagement skills collaborating with third party suppliers and other teams
  • Adept in building metrics and automated systems for gathering/analysing quality checkpoints towards management reviews
  • Experience in defining and managing releases
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining automation test suits using Selenium and Jmeter
  • Experience in overseeing test automation integration across teams, promoting efficiency and reusability of testing solutions
  • It would also be nice for you to have:
  • Experience of UK payment flows, preferably an understanding of ISO20022 and end to end payment journey implications
  • Due diligence around Risk controls, managing and mitigation of risks in the project lifecycle, performing security checks of systems and monitors quality metrics
  • Ability to deliver multi-stream test operations in Agile environments, with good alignment to CI/CD, TDD, BDD
  • Background in leading test strategy development, defect prioritisation, and stakeholder engagement

    This permanent role is based in Unity Place - Milton Keynes.
