Full Job Description

MATERNITY COVER - FIXED TERM CONTRACT As the Pricing Manager you will take accountability for Strategic pricing operational activities within Burberry's global Merchandising & Planning organisation reporting into the Merchandise Planning Operations, Senior Planning Manager. You will lead by example, acting as an ambassador for Burberry, fostering a culture of simplification, innovation and driving excellence. You will be accountable for:

  • Identifying pricing opportunities through analysis of pricing architecture, performance trends and competitor pricing intelligence.
  • Monitoring changing global macro-economic factors and making appropriate and reasoned price adjustment recommendations to maintain global pricing consistency and protect group margins
  • Seasonal pricing set up to ensure that global retail and wholesale prices are appropriately derived each season, Global Pricing Architecture
  • Manage the seasonal review of country pricing factors, making appropriate price adjustment recommendations as needed
  • Assist the Senior Planning Manager in working with Finance to provide seasonal pricing guidance and global pricing architecture relationships to be incorporated into seasonal and financial plans
  • Create price positioning recommendations for new countries by undertaking analysis on relevant taxes and duties as well as local competitor price positioning.
  • Support the Senior Planning Manager in the formulation of the longer term Global Pricing Strategy
  • Assortment Price Architecture
  • Monitor and analyse competitor pricing in order to identify pricing opportunity for the business
  • Review key style pricing and performance with the product merchants incorporating appropriate competitor pricing comparisons and agree seasonal price adjustments as appropriate
  • Seasonal Pricing Set-up
  • Oversee the seasonal price bands (core currency pricing relationships) process with merchants and implementation in Flex PLM
  • Oversee the creation of seasonal retail and wholesale factor files for SAP
  • Supervise the build and maintenance of seasonal pricing files (e.g., price indices, price increases, etc.)
  • Markdown Execution
  • Direct markdown execution by working with key stakeholders to ensure markdown prices are accurate and loaded in a timely fashion
  • Business Liaison with Pricing Execution Team
  • Manage quarterly price change requests and approvals, working with the Product, Retail & BI Pricing data team to facilitate a smooth implementation
  • Liaise with BI pricing team on ad-hoc pricing queries, seasonal realignments, emergency price adjustments and any other price execution requests
  • Team Leadership
  • Manage, develop and elevate team to drive business growth and create a best in class pricing team
  • Actively engage in coaching and mentoring activities, driving personal and professional development across the team

    Experience in Pricing - good understanding of micro and macro-economic factors that impact on global pricing
  • Strong commercial awareness of a retail business
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team in a fast paced commercial, luxury environment
  • Creative, innovative and customer-oriented when faced with business challenges
  • Dynamic and collaborative style, able to build positive working relationships with cross-functional teams and translate strategic direction into day to day direction within the department
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Experience with SAP would be advantageous
