Full Job Description

The Systems Implementation Engineer provides technical support in the development and implementation of customer applications and company products,conducts on-site installations, enhancements, maintenance and support for new and existing systems. The qualified candidate will implement new product configurations/software upgrades, installs network devices and/or hardware components/peripherals, diagnoses, troubleshoots and repairs technical problems. You will become knowledgeable of company and third-party vendor products utilized in the customer's application/systems. The successful candidate should be able to perform preventive and corrective maintenance and pre-empt/predict then diagnose customer impacting issues (Tier2). If this sounds like you keep on reading !, As our Systems Implementation Engineer, you will support HID's success by:

  • Leading the integration and deployment of systems (including configuration of high availability and backups etc.) in test, and live environments, both for internal use and on-premises at customer sites.
  • Covering a wide range of skills supporting the implementation of solutions at customer sites.
  • Supporting test activities as required.
  • As a subject matter expert on solutions deployed, perform occasional Tier2 support.

  • Your Experience and Education include:
  • Educated to a degree level in software engineering or computer science or have equivalent experience.
  • Requires a minimum of 3-5 years' experience of Implementations experience in controlled environments.
  • Proven track-record delivering projects. Demonstrated ability to drive the planning, execution, and operation of complex projects
  • Experience with Windows domain services (Domain Controllers, DNS, Active Directory, WSUS etc.)
  • Experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware based solutions in HA scenarios.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of Windows Failover Clustering (including, SQL and File servers).
  • Experience of backup technologies for SQL and Virtualized Environments.
  • Microsoft/VMWare/Cisco Certifications advantageous.
  • Experience with storage technologies (SAN, FC/iSCSI, RAID) is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in cloud infrastructure platforms such as Azure or AWS is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Proficient in installing and configuring Microsoft server, and/or Linux operating systems to support various applications and services.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages, PowerShell, SQL, bash etc.
  • Experience of setting up and administration of servers, pcs and networks. Including routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring system security/efficiency.
  • Understanding of networking principles, including VLANs, IPv4 and subnetting, Familiarity of the TCP/IP stack and LAN/WAN technologies, Firewall ACLs, Site to Site and Client VPN.
