Full Job Description

The post holder will lead, manage and develop a responsive administration service, ensuring effective and efficient management of resource to achieve national and local quality and performance targets. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of administrative teams. The post holder will work closely with the Unit Manager and the Service Manager and will provide expertise in the proactive management of the patient pathway and treatments. Ensure that the entire pathway is managed smoothly and in line with the Hospital Referral to Treatment patient Access Policy and underpinning Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's). The post holder will support the development of a standardised and consistent delivery service model across the Division. This will require formation of relationships with peers across the Division and a corporate approach of sharing and implementing best practice.,

  • Undertake annual appraisals, annual leave, sickness leave and recruitment
  • Day to day supervision of the administrative teams
  • First line for approving timesheets, bank staff, additional hours
  • Monitor activity reports to ensure effective rescheduling of appointments
  • Provide weekly and monthly performance reports to management team
  • Develop, agree, implement and adjust staff activities as needed to ensure administrative responsibilities are met.
  • Ensure the team's effective management of referrals, appointments, and rosters, monitoring capacity and demand on behalf of the Unit Manager and alerting them to shortfalls in a timely manner.
  • To monitor and report on service performance standards and targets.
  • To respond to and escalate risks to patient care
  • Provide support to clinical/admin teams to facilitate implementation of re-designed pathways to achieve sustainability of the cancer pathway
  • Assist in dealing with patient and customer experience, including complaint case
  • Assist in developing strong systems for clinical governance.
  • Ensure the quality of data provision within the service area is accurate and consistent
  • To deputise for the Unit Manager and Service Manager.
