Full Job Description
We are responsible for enhancing the productivity, efficiency, and satisfaction of our development teams by designing and improving tooling, workflows, and processes. As part of the team, you will work closely with engineers across multiple groups to identify problems and bottlenecks, streamline development environments, and enable faster delivery of high-quality software.,
- Communicates with clarity and precision, presenting complex / technical information in a concise format that is audience appropriate.
- Understands different approaches to project management (e.g. Agile, Waterfall etc.) and ensures flexibility to deliver and complete within different ways of working.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards, legal requirements and principles, developing and applying knowledge and minimising legal and regulatory risks across the business.
- Directs and leads others, coordinating activities and providing encouragement and inspiration to help others succeed.
- Adapts to constantly evolving events and environments while accurately judging priorities and keeping track of details.
- Engages in discussion to reach an agreement and create outcomes, affecting the action, behaviours, or opinions of others.
- Cultivates and maintains external partnerships & alliances to ensure alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements for long term value and growth.
- Seeks new ways of working continuously to make processes run smoother and faster.
- Uses project management methodologies to manage project resources and activities.
- Demonstrates the robust use of planning, organising and managing resources and activities to achieve specified outcomes within a clearly defined timeframe and standards.
- Manages and records the risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies on a project and implements formal change control standards and governance.
- Interacts with others to exchange information and develop professional or social contacts and reduce siloed working.
- Builds trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their drivers and negotiate positive outcomes .
- Knowledge and experience with hashicorp vault, jfrog artifactory, sonarqube
- Nice to have: AWS Outposts Family, Improves the delivery of software products and services in terms of quality, cost and schedule covering a single medium complexity product or a portfolio of products.
- Leads the development and execution of strategy for single product delivery teams, aligning with strategic business objectives
- Ensures the delivery organisation is properly resourced with appropriate planning for growth, and all the delivery teams have been trained in appropriate methodologies and understand their role in the organisation
- Champions and delivers an agile delivery methodology and a continuous improvement framework to drive efficiency and enable business agility
- Innovates in partnership with product management function and senior technology roles to deliver revenue growth
- Drives cost reduction of delivery and maintenance through technology and process innovation
- Implements a governance framework for technology delivery and to ensure appropriate reporting and remedial actions are being undertaken to keep programs on track - Manages relationships with key suppliers, setting performance standards and managing the resolution of raised service issues.
- Develops high performing and diverse teams, with clear succession plans.
- Must interact with global teams in time zones spanning UK, US, APAC areas.
- Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services-from inception and design, through to deployment, operation, and refinement.
- Support services before they launch through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, planning and launch reviews.
- Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Indicators (SLIs): Collaborate on defining, measuring, and managing SLOs/SLIs to ensure systems meet reliability targets and customer expectations.
- Promote multi-functional team collaboration between DevOps, SRE, and development teams, focusing on a shared responsibility for adoption of new DevOps principle and new solutions
- Maintain services once they are live by measuring and overseeing availability, latency, and overall system health.
- Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
- Build a CI/CD pipeline and maintain the pipeline for Software Delivery to Build, maintain, and implement CI/CD Pipelines ensuring security checks, vulnerability scans, and compliance requirements are continuously and appropriately applied.
- Collaborate with Security and Infrastructure teams to ensure the patching are up to date.
- Co-ordinate and work with Devops Capability team to perform the Disaster recovery for the applications.
- Participate in Project related activities to meet operational needs.
- To ensure knowledge Articles of all supported systems is continually updated.
- To provide a high level of customer service, whilst working under pressure.
- To follow and adhere to established Incident Management, Change Management and Problem Management procedures.
Developer Tools (ex: GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) - General understanding of Databases
- DevOps Principles including CI/CD
- Previous experience in a Project delivery, Coordination or Support role
- Previous experience of Software Development, Business and Technical Analysis, Quality Assurance, and / or Emerging Technology and Governance
- PPM Tools (ex: Clarity, JIRA, Asana) Preferred Skills and Experience
- Hands-On experience of working on Windows/ Linux Servers. Cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Managing incidents, change requests, service requests and driving TRT (Technical Recovery Team) calls.
- Strong problem solving skills on these platforms
- Minimum knowledge and understanding of financial markets are desirable.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with all levels of staff, both orally and written.
- Ability to manage own work and multitask to meet tight delivery schedules without losing sight of priorities under minimum supervision.
- Highly motivated, self-directed individual with a positive & pro-active approach to work.
- Customer and service focused, with determination to meet their needs and expectations.
- Be driven and committed to the goals and objectives of the team and organization.
- Second line point of escalation in event of a major incident, Curious about new technologies and tools, creative thinking and initiative taking.
- Solid English reading/writing capability required.
- Superb communication & collaboration skills.
- Commitment to DevOps culture
- Familiarity with Agile principles including any hand on experience
