Working to the Transactions Strand Lead, this role covers the whole of the UK detention estate and provides the job holder with a wide overview of the work carried out by Immigration Detention in addition to the finance elements of the role. Specifically, to provide administrative transactional support to Detention Services and ensuring timely and accurate payment of all invoices and providing support to the wider purchasing function. You will provide finance and administrative support to teams across Immigration Detention within Home Office Immigration Enforcement. The Detention Services Finance Team are looking for help to carry out a wide range of finance related activities across the directorate, including but not limited to the following areas:

  • Supporting the efficient running of the finance function by ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and reconciliation of transactional and backing data using both Home Office and supplier systems. Ensuring the integrity of a full audit trail and that backing data is properly stored and sorted.
  • Provide support to the wider business on general finance queries, by answering questions, providing hands-on training (either face-to-face or remotely), managing directorate-wide stakeholders and providing assistance with reporting.
  • Help manage the payments for utilities within the detention estate, including liaising with colleagues on site to confirm meter readings, and arranging payments to suppliers., Processing of purchase order requests ensuring accuracy of data and communication with customer throughout the process.
  • Managing purchase invoice processing, including the receipting process, and liaising with the business to ensure good purchasing management.
  • Dealing with questions and queries in a timely manner and using a variety of communication tools to ensure a prompt conclusion.
  • Ensuring that all data is correctly stored and that there is a robust audit trail for all transactions.
  • Assisting the Transactions Strand Lead with any ad hoc requests in accordance with grade.
