Job ref: 819b6412dd714a0fa7a2469bb01a785f
Full Job Description
This role involves working as part of a small team, leading direct engagement with social housing landlords where you will be expected to show judgement and autonomy., Your role will include ensuring effective regulation of around 1100 small registered social housing landlords. You will carry out proportionate interventions to obtain assurance of compliance with regulatory standards and will use your judgement to recommend the most appropriate regulatory response where compliance with standards requires improvement. You will work with landlords to ensure remediation plans are implemented, and so a sound knowledge of organisational governance, risk management and consumer expectations is crucial. You will also lead the assessment of applications for landlords wishing to de-register.
The role has much autonomy and you will work with a large variety of organisations from small almshouse charities, Abbeyfields and housing co-operatives, to Local Authority Housing Departments and housing associations with up to 1,000 units of social housing. No two days will be the same!, We carry out anonymous shortlisting as part of our commitment to Equality and Diversity and ensuring a fair and consistent approach to recruitment.
We are a Disability Confident Employer and guarantee an interview to disabled candidates who meet the minimum selection criteria, as part of this commitment.
We encourage applications from all sections of the community, irrespective of background, belief or identity, recognising the benefits of a diverse organisation.
As our successful candidate you should have relevant experience of working in a governance, risk management or finance environment, with the ability to evaluate multiple sources of information to reach sound conclusions. Along with having excellent organisation skills, you should be used to delivering results and making evidenced based and proportionate recommendations which support effective decision making.
You will be articulate and credible, with experience of producing written and oral briefings that draw out and analyse the key issues and risks, youll combine this expertise with the ability to develop and manage effective stakeholder relationships at senior levels with colleagues, social housing providers, advisors, and external agencies as well as having highly developed influencing skills and resilience to deal with challenging situations., Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check.
People working with government assets must complete baseline personnel security standard (opens in new window) checks.
Alongside your salary of £47,106, Regulator of Social Housing contributes £13,646 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. Find out what benefits a Civil Service Pension provides.
