Full Job Description
As a delivery manager for MHCLG youll sit within the heart of the digital recruitment team in our digital directorate. The digital recruitment and assessment teams are responsible for recruiting and assessing digital and data roles for MHCLG. We know that building digital, data and technical capability, and being able to recruit and retain that skilled and diverse talent are key to enable the department to achieve its ambitions. We also know the challenges across government in recruiting in-demand digital skills quickly in a competitive sector. In the past 18 months, we have taken significant action to improve digital and data recruitment in order to help our teams attract the talent and skills they need in-house, and to support the wider government strategy to build digital skills at scale. We are looking for an agile delivery manager to drive the teams collaboration, support them in continuing to deliver a high touch service to our stakeholders and embed continuous improvement throughout the two work streams. You can also read the MHCLG Digital blog to learn about the work we're doing., As an Agile Delivery Manager, you'll: + work collaboratively with colleagues across the digital recruitment and government digital and data assessment teams to record, track and manage delivery of their tasks + deliver and support with all programme's of work - be responsible for the end to end delivery of multiple medium and large sized, well defined projects happening in parallel + create, develop and maintain delivery plans and appropriate systems to enable effective planning and scheduling whilst leading on improving processes and documentation used by the teams + implement a culture of risk management working closely with both the teams to ensure that the implementation is effective, efficient and fit for purpose + maintain project controls, produce reports and regularly update the project lead and SLT + ensure that appropriate technical, service and user processes, documentation and training is delivered by the relevant owners + help facilitate continuous improvement and apply the most appropriate delivery methodology tools and techniques in the cross-functional teams, and work with other delivery managers to share skills and knowledge + work closely with others including product, user-centred design, Operational, Policy and Technical colleagues to understand and remove the barriers + deliver new services and products + work across multiple workstreams this includes recruitment and assessment teams, managing your time effectively and working to tight deadlines i.e. completing manual redactions and facilitating recruitment / assessment meetings + lead on producing and analysing specific data and be able to provide timely reports for senior leaders, Our application system is designed to remove as much bias as possible from the recruitment system this means that a hiring manager does not know your name, your details, see your whole application in one go (or have your CV at review stage unless stated otherwise). + experience of managing multiple projects within a digital environment, working with multiple delivery partners and teams + experience of using MS Teams + experience of the government digital and data assessments framework + experience of using agile tools i.e. trello or MS planner for task management and other project management tools to create migration plans at the high and low level + good stakeholder management skills, co-ordinating across various groups to create an agreed joined up approach and ensuring a clear understanding of the end to end processes + knowledge of cloud-based technology and how it is used for hosting of services + the ability to create a positive culture whilst supporting with developing high performing teams + proven agile/lean delivery experience, working with multi-disciplinary teams + proven experience in delivering digital projects and products, with communication skills/ability to listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and interpret them + experience of bringing people together to form a motivated high-performing team, empowering them to deliver experience of working across multiple workstreams including digital recruitment and GdaD assessments and fostering a high level of motivation throughout multiple manual processes + experience of undertaking a manual redaction process across sensitive detailed documents
