Full Job Description

Our clerical team is essential to the efficient running of the cardiology diagnostics department. The successful candidate will lead and manage the clerical team, and be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all clerical and administrative functions of the department. They will work alongside the departments senior clinical leaders to monitor diagnostic waiting times, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and effectively in order to match clinical demand., + Manage clerical and administrative processes associated with patient pathways in line with national policy guidance and organisational standard operating procedures to ensure effective patient access and waiting list management for the cardiology diagnostics service.
+ Lead and develop the clerical and admin team
+ Validate patient pathways to ensure compliance with national diagnostic and 18 RTT targets
+ Management of the departmental booking system
+ Complete data returns related to DM01
+ Monitor clerical KPIs

We are looking for an organised, proactive, computer literate individual who is able to work well under pressure, work well on their own initiative, but also work well as a team.
A thorough knowledge and understanding of diagnostic pathways and 18 RTT targets is essential for this role, as well as experience of validation and waiting list management. In addition, the applicant must have excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritise their own workload in a fast paced, ever changing environment.

The department currently provides outpatient services at both City Hospital and Sandwell Hospital sites and carries out a variety of procedures on patients with known or suspected cardiac conditions. The successful candidate will work over both sites and will also be required to rotate to our third site, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital., Working for our organisation
