Full Job Description

  • To lead on the development, implementation and monitoring of the Community Safety Partnership Action plan.
  • To lead on the development and production of the CSP's annual strategic assessment.
  • To coordinate the Responsible Authority Group, the Community Safety Hub and chair any subgroups of the CSP.
  • To be responsible for the preparation of specific performance reports relating to progress against targets, liaising with relevant officers and agencies to gather data to ensure accurate and up to date information is recorded and disseminated as appropriate.
  • To develop and/or lead on a range of community safety projects and initiatives including identifying need, analysis and resolution.
  • To ensure all interventions are compliant with Health & Safety legislation, procedures and good practice.
  • To build strong and effective working relationships with a range of statutory, voluntary and business partners as well as with internal colleagues, including Essex Police and Office of PFCC.
  • To lead on the preparation of funding bids to relevant external partners.
  • Promote and sustain relevant internal and external networks and liaison for information and development, of partnership and collaborative working.
  • To deputise for the Community Services Manager representing the CSP, chairing meetings where necessary.
  • To co-ordinate and chair anti-social behaviour case reviews.
  • To promote the work of the community safety partnership.
  • To research new Government initiatives and guidelines in relation to community safety issues, recognising local needs and raising awareness amongst Council Officers and external partners.

    We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to be able to lead and support multiple projects and ensure they are meeting their agreed outcomes.
  • There will be extensive partnership working with organisations in the public. Private and voluntary sectors as well as working with communities directly, so you would need to possess strong networking, influencing and negotiation skills. We need someone who is driven and can project manage this work to keep all stakeholders including the Responsible Authority Group of the CSP, elected members, the Office of the Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner for Essex and senior management team informed and to deliver clear outcomes.
