The role of a Construction Assurance Manager in Capital Delivery (Major Projects) is crucial for the success of Thames Water's water process treatment developments. Your oversight of construction activities ensures work is delivered to the highest standards, from design to completion, in compliance with asset, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
In this role, you are crucial in safeguarding sites and processes, monitoring compliance with regulations, and ensuring efficient delivery while maximising project benefits. Your expertise and attention to detail are essential for the seamless execution of these vital projects, which provide critical services to communities.
What you'll be doing as a Construction Assurance Manager
- Ensuring compliance with environmental requirements in asset design and delivery, monitoring delivery performance and working with contractors to address issues and improve.
- Build and maintain a team of Construction Assurance Engineers and Operational Integration Engineers to ensure that projects are delivered to operational requirements. Manage a team of up to 8 engineers.
- Manage the input of consultant specialists and subject matter experts, delivering the construction phase assurance on selected projects.
- Ensuring compliance with current CDM regulations.
- Support contractor and Operations Integration during the design process, promoting innovation, best practices, and compliance with quality standards.
- Engage with Asset Management. Engineering and Operations: identify synergies and use lessons from previous projects to agree on the most effective solutions.
- Support the assessment and appointment of contractors and consultants.
- Manage the Integration team to ensure project deliverables are clear and agreed upon by all stakeholders.
- Verify and approve project plans (Project Delivery Plan, Commissioning Plan, test plans).
- Stress test contractor programmes and ensure compatibility with other projects and isolations.
- Assess and report weekly progress against the programme.
This role will be based on a hybrid basis suitable to your home location within the Thames Water regions, so there must be flexibility to travel 3-4 days of their 36-hour week.
Hold an engineering degree or substantial experience in a similar role.
- Have sufficient knowledge and capability for the technical review of project details.
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
- Understanding of the development, design, construction, and operation of water and wastewater projects or significant experience in an equivalent process environment.

The successful candidate must drive and have access to a car, and this role comes with a £5.800 car allowance., Competitive salary from £65,000 to £78,000 per annum.
