Full Job Description

The Evening and Weekend Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of UCL's library teams and facilities, which cover multiples sites in and around UCL Central Campus. This includes coordinating and supporting a large team of over 50 team members who provide front facing Library support at 9 different library locations to students, staff and visitors. You will provide regular reports through one-to-ones, meetings and handover to the Deputy Head of Evening and Weekend Library Services and Head of Evening and Weekend Services. As the role holds Duty Officer responsibilities it is expected that the post holder will respond to a varying range of emergency situations and be able to act when called upon. The role requires attendance to emergencies at multiple library locations usually this requires outdoor travel on foot and can be during the course of an evening. This is an on-campus role.   • Experience of managing a large team to deliver frontline customer service, including supporting and developing large teams and the ability to strongly communicate to colleagues and users of all levels with an objective and clear with aims and outcomes.
  • Can respond to complex and pressured situations and are able to find positive solutions by using their initiative and strong problem-solving abilities, particularly during time sensitive situations.
  • Have good technical comprehension of software systems and solutions and are able support their continuous development. Specifically, good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.
