Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit 2 Library Assistants. To apply for this job, please clearly specify which roles you would like to apply for by mentioning it at the top of your statement/cover letter. The post holders will be part of a customer-facing team working in the Library Evening and Weekend Team. Our team takes pride in providing the best possible user experience throughout our library and study spaces. The main purpose of these roles is to provide excellent customer service and clerical support for library resources and facilities. The post holders will also support a wide range of activities, including the use of technology, social media, maintenance of the estate, and health & safety. Special Working Conditions e.g. manual handling is required to carry out this role. Training will be provided. This is an on-campus role. It is not suitable for regular remote working. The salary for this role is £ 31,163 per annum (calculated pro-rated amount for part-time hours in term-time basis) This appointment is subject to UCL Terms and Conditions of Service for Research and Professional Services Staff. We are looking for motivated and reliable Library Assistants to join our Evening and Weekend team. The available work patterns for these roles are as follows: Post 1: Friday to Sunday, 5:00 pm to 09:00 pm Post 2: Thursday and Friday, 5:00 pm to 09:00 pm, and alternate Saturdays, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm The successful applicants will have:

  • Reliability, a strong sense of responsibility, and good time management skills.
  • Proven experience in delivering excellent customer service.
  • Strong communication, IT, and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to ensure accuracy.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience of working in a library or information environment.
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades A
