Full Job Description

  • To agree and oversee the delivery of the strategic plans of the Trust to ensure that the priority local health needs of the population served by the Trust are fully considered.
  • Establish priorities and outcome measures to deliver the agreed plans and to review the performance of the delivery of these objectives so that appropriate corrective action can be taken when required
  • Lead/participate in Committees or sub-groups of the Board charged with specific governance responsibilities to support the delivery of services and the management of risk.
  • Ensure effective financial control arrangements are in place across the Trust to secure high levels of probity and value for taxpayers' money
  • Ensure frameworks and processes are established to deliver a good culture with high standards of professional, clinical, administrative, and personal behaviours across the Trust
  • Represent the Trust in dealings with External Stakeholders and with national, regional, and local bodies including the regulators and the Integrated Care Board to ensure that the views of a wide range of stakeholders are considered and the position of the Trust is enhanced
  • To be a good team member and a personification of the Trusts values of Kind, Connect and Bold.
  • UHB's corporate meetings are usually held on Thursdays with Board and Committees held bi-monthly. The successful candidate will be required to attend meetings at all the Trust hospital sites (Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Good Hope & Solihull Hospitals).

  • Performance, Productivity and Finance ideally with some experience of the NHS
  • Digital and technological solutions to improve service delivery.
  • The management of estate and infrastructure
