Leadership is another important element of the role. You will have the opportunity to line manage an apprentice economist within the team, developing your leadership and line management skills.

This position also provides excellent opportunities for analytical skill development. You will work with large datasets using tools such as Excel and R to produce insightful analysis. These skills will be important in creating impactful outputs that inform the Department's decision making., This is a great opportunity for an analyst to develop their quantitative and data science analytical skills, improving the Department's understanding of the UK exporter population. Your work will help to build the evidence base that will inform and improve the Department's approach to export support.

This role includes the opportunity to manage research projects through the Department's call-off contract with Ipsos, a leading research company, investigating border processes and their impact on international traders. Further, the role offers the possibility of line management experience.

You will also be responsible for coordinating and producing a range of outputs, including analysis of HMRC microdata to provide insight into the impact of an international conflict or a change in trading relationship, such as a Free Trade Agreement or a sanctions regime.
