Full Job Description
We are looking for a Support Worker to join our Day Service dedicated to supporting adults with limited communication, are autistic and have profound multiple learning disabilities.
The Support Worker role is to lead and organise social activities to be conducted in both our Tilehurst based centre and within the community. In addition, to planning and coordinating activities you will need to provide hands-on care.

About the Role
Part Time - 22 hours per week
8.45am - 4.15pm (Tuesday and Thursday) and 8.45am - 3.45pm (Friday) - No weekend work required.

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative individual with experience in a setting which has focused on activities and participation, to join our proficient staff team in maintaining ratios of 1:1,1:2 and 1:4 support to adults with complex learning disabilities in group settings.
Your role will involve advocating for service users and organizing engaging activities (such as Sensory Stories, Tac Pac, and local walks), creating care plans, delivering a user-led service. This approach encourages and supports individuals in developing their independence.
Furthermore, you will take on the responsibility of leading other staff, serving as a keyworker, assessing, and managing risks, carrying out reviews all while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
Qualification in Care/NVQ3/Level 3 Diploma in Care and Promoting Independence or a commitment to attaining this qualification
Capability to connect with service users, addressing their needs with a sense of understanding, patience, respect, and dignity
Proficiency in assessing, documenting, and planning risk and strategies
Ability to perform personal care duties with dignity and respect, including manual handling if necessary
Effective teamwork and the capacity to work independently
Competent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Packages such as Word and Outlook
