  • Role Requirements
  • Develop and motivate team members, ensuring they have the skills to meet demands.
  • Manage daily team activities, balancing commitments with operational demands.
  • Recruit and manage both permanent and consultant resources, including building business cases for recruitment.
  • Adjust team size as needed and escalate when commitments can't be met, ensuring accurate time-recording and headcount management.
  • Collaborate with the Release Train Engineer to align on work pipeline and resourcing.
  • Ensure adherence to ITIL service processes in collaboration with Service functions.
  • Work with security teams to ensure compliance with cyber and security standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery, operational, and financial efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships with product owners and influence product roadmaps.
  • Represent Technology across the Bank, fostering trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.

  • Have excellent knowledge and experience of leading technology teams (minimum 2 years) alongside delivery of change.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing multiple work streams with tight deadlines.
  • Experience of managing staff performance including development of high-performing staff and support of staff under-performance.
  • Experience collaborating with third parties and outsourced services.
  • Able to demonstrate strong judgement, problem-solving and good analytical skills across wide range of internal and external sources of information.
  • Proven experience of Agile delivery methods and software delivery frameworks in different parts of the software stack.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or similar service management approaches.
  • Great communication skills with experience presenting at senior level briefings through to domain-wide engagement events.
  • This is a people management role. You will be responsible for day to day management of the team and for defining roles and responsibilities. You will develop your team through sharing information effectively, coaching and communicating a clear vision to ensure that your staff are productive, engaged and motivated to deliver the area's aims. This will include setting clear goals and smart stretching objectives that are aligned to those of the team, division and directorate. You will also be responsible for managing all staff-related matters that may arise including performance, absence and sickness.

We offer a salary as follows: Leeds circa £61,070 - £70,470 London circa £67,860 - £78,300 In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:
  • A non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/95th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/50th) or decrease (to 1/120th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.

  • A 8% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits.
