Full Job Description

We are looking for an Environmental Permitting Specialist to join our dynamic Permitting & Regulatory Support Team. This team of experts specializes in the regulation and monitoring of wastewater, air emissions, and waste management activities. Your role will focus on ensuring the necessary Environmental Permits are in place and providing technical advice on permitting to support our business activities., + You will manage permits related to our wastewater assets and contribute to our WINEP programme for AMP7.
+ Act as a technical lead on permitting matters for Water Treatment Works.
+ Advise on regulatory outputs to support our business plan.
+ Negotiate with the Environment Agency on new permits and permit changes.
+ Ensure timely completion of permit reviews and requests from the Environment Agency.
+ Support teams to improve compliance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements.

Base Location: Remote role with occasional on-site visits and team meetings, typically around once a month. Office based near train station in Reading RG1 8DB, Clearwater Court

+ A Degree in a scientific or environmental discipline (preferred).
+ Experience in negotiating water discharge permits with the Environment Agency is a plus.
+ Strong knowledge of Water Discharge Activity Environmental Permitting or a willingness to develop expertise.
+ Understanding of the Environmental Permitting Regulations and regulatory framework within the Water Industry.
+ Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to negotiate and liaise with stakeholders.
+ Knowledge of wastewater and water treatment processes is desirable.

+ Competitive salary from £36,240 to £50,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
