Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our Developer Services team.

What you will be doing as the Senior Project Manager, you will lead and manage a team of up to 10 Project Managers to deliver a customer led programme in the Thames Valley region. Your team will be responsible for the delivery of a varied range of water and wastewater projects for Developers, Infrastructure Companies, Highway Authorities and other transport authorities. These will range from £250,000 in value through to £10 million.

This is predominantly an office-based role, but you will be required to travel across the Thames Valley area to visit developers, construction sites and other Thames Water sites. Awareness of risks such as plant machinery, working at height, trench safety, noise and harmful materials will be needed.

Duties to include but not limited to:

+ Lead the project management and delivery teams to continually manage project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders.
+ Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards.
+ Establish practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization.
+ Drive to constantly improve health, safety and environmental performance within a portfolio of assigned projects.
+ Have excellent people and performance management skills, monitoring performance and staff development.
+ Initiate and develop great communication and good relationships with key stakeholders.
+ Drive a customer-focussed accountable culture in pursuit of excellent service to both internal and external customers.

+ A proven track record as a people manager.
+ Be educated to degree level, ideally in engineering or have achieved a recognized professional qualification in project management.
+ Have extensive experience in the construction or utility industry within the project management environment - with evidence of leading multi-disciplinary teams.
+ Ability to demonstrate effective leadership in building and sustaining a strong Health and Safety performance culture within the construction or utility industry.
+ Hold a full UK driving licence as travelling to other sites is essential.
+ An in-depth understanding of the development of design, construction, and operation of above and below ground projects is essential.
+ Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, demonstrating innovation and excellence.
+ Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to clearly interact with your team and our customers.
+ Motivate and lead your team with a focus on improving performance and recognising development.
+ Collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common business objective.

Base Location: Hybrid - Clearwater Court - RG1 8DB.

Hours: Monday to Friday 36 hours per week.
