Clinical Psychologist

An exciting opportunity hasarisen to recruit a suitably qualified Clinical Psychologist into the StrokeService in Barnsley. The position isbeing offered as a Band 8a / 8b preceptorship dependant on knowledge andexperience. The post holder will bejoining a cohesive and well-established multi-disciplinary team and will befocused on providing a full range of psychological and neuropsychologicalassessment and interventions. The Stroke Service is basedat Kendray Hospital with free parking available. The role will cover both the InpatientStroke Rehabilitation Unit and the Early Supported Discharge (ESD) Communityservice. We expect candidates to have a passion for working with the clientgroup and relevant transferable skills and experience. Main duties of the job The Stroke RehabilitationService provides assessment and support for stroke survivors and their carers.The psychologist role includes providing comprehensive psychological and neuropsychologicalassessments to service users, as well as appropriate support and interventionsto their carers. You will be working with anextensive MDT and as such will be expected to provide consultancy, supervisionand clinical leadership both on a formal and informal basis. The post holderwill lead and supervise an assistant psychologist. There are opportunities forservice evaluation and development. The successful applicantwill be joining a supportive network of psychologists at different levelsacross the Trust who work in the broad specialisms around the needs of olderpeople and as a preceptorship post candidates at B8a would be supported toaccess relevant training and development opportunities in order to fulfil therelevant requirements.
