Full Job Description

Booker Group is looking for a full-time External Communications Co-ordinator to join our Media & Communications team. The role will be based out of our head office in Wellingborough, with hybrid-working options available. This role will focus on creating, maintaining, developing, and delivering an external communications plan that is fit for purpose, supports the business' agenda, and fully engages the audience. You will help the team to protect and elevate Booker Group's reputation within the market. Our customers are Independent Retailers, Restaurants and National Accounts.

  • Helping to protect and elevate Booker's reputation in the media through consistent messages and tone.
  • Helping to create and deliver an engaging external communications plan across our business - including drafting external press releases, selling in positive news stories, supporting with trade press and re-purposing internal feature stories for local media.
  • Media monitoring, including overseeing the media enquiries inbox, and responding to requests from journalists and other stakeholders.
  • Helping to implement and deliver a strategy for awards - including helping to write, review and co-ordinate entries for national and trade awards, sponsorship requirements and relevant administration.
  • Managing our 4 customer magazines including co-ordinating features and photography with an external agency.
  • Identifying opportunities for positive stories by working cross-functionally with internal teams.
  • Support with managing budget for awards and events, as required
  • Some occasional UK travel for internal/external events may be required.

    Exceptional communication and stakeholder management.
  • Strong writing skills, evidence to support.
  • Be able to work independently and problem solve.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Innovative and conceptual thinking
  • To comply with all business legal, regulatory and ethical requirements.
  • Previous experience within a similar role, a background in communications or PR.
  • Have experience of development and management of communications campaigns.
  • Stakeholder management experience.
