Are you someone who cares about helping others? Do you want to be part of a team that supports people who are facing challenges with substance use? We're looking for a Harm Reduction Social Support Worker to join us at Forward Leeds and make a positive impact in the community.
You'll be working with people who are struggling with alcohol misuse and other substance-related issues, helping them access the support they need. It's all about being a friendly, supportive advocate who ensures their health and social needs are met. Plus, you'll be working closely with other services to make sure everyone gets the help they deserve.
What you'll be doing:
Supporting people affected by alcohol and substance use
Speaking up for them and making sure they get the right help
Building relationships with other services and finding new ways to support the community
If you're passionate about making a real difference and enjoy working in a supportive, team-focused environment, we'd love to hear from you!, As part of the Harm Reduction Social Support Team you will provides assertive outreach to drug and alcohol users across Leeds and work with all partners attached to Forward Leeds and external services. You will provide enhanced social support such as housing, benefits and wrap around provision., Provide an effective needle syringe provision, ensuring clients receive effective specialist harm reduction advice and equipment appropriate to their drug use.
Provide overdose information and advice and train service users in the use of Naloxone.
Provide clients with in-depth specialist safer injecting advice and advice about the harms caused by alcohol.

You will be part of a dynamic and responsive team so a positive attitude and a willingness to work flexibly to meet the needs of our service users is essential. You will be working in accordance with the values of St Anne's Community Services and the Forward Leeds consortium.
