Full Job Description

City Operations is seeking a dedicated Class 2 Driver to join our Waste Service team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team to collect a range of waste in various bin sizes across the city. You will also be required to drive a Hook Loader and manage the daily workload efficiently.

  • CE licence, digi card, and a valid/current driver CPC card.
  • Practical approach to work and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong communication abilities and leadership skills.
  • Competent in reading and writing.
  • Customer-oriented mindset.
  • Personal Attributes:
  • Flexible and adaptable, with no two days being the same.
  • Confident in handling the manual and operational aspects of the role.
  • Good use of initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • The start time is 6:45am daily Monday- Friday, however this can change to 06:45 Tuesday to Friday although advance notice will be given if the working pattern needs to change to provide operational support. Some Saturday working may be required to catch-up following bad weather or public holidays. We are looking for someone who is not only skilled in driving and managing waste collection but also excels in leading a team and providing excellent customer service.

  • You will normally work a 37-hour week (although we have part time roles too). Annual leave starts at 26 days and rising to 31 days after 5 years' service, in addition to paid public holidays.
